What is an optional line item?

Focus: The focus of this Self Help article is to provide you information and steps in order to use line items as optional.

When setting a price list item as optional, what does it do? When you set an item to optional, you client will have the option to select this when they are viewing the Web version of the proposal. This is a very good option if you have a many items and its up to your client on which items they want to include in the proposal. This can be done for all price items types: Services, products and Subscriptions.

Please note:  Optional line items can be added during Step 2 of the proposal process or if you create a price list under Catalog > Price List.  When you are “Previewing” the proposal, these will not be selectable, this will only be selectable when you clients views the web version of the proposal.

In the below example, will be doing this through Step 2 of the pricing table.

Step 1: Create or edit and existing draft proposal. Go to Step 2. Edit a line item and you will see a “Checkbox” for optional. Check that box. Now that item is considered optional.
